Points can be converted to cash, credit towards Tellwell services, gift cards, charitable donations, or other benefits. |

Joining the Author Advocate program
It’s easy to join the program! Simply:
- Log in to the Octavo portal and click on the “Referral Program” link in the left-hand sidebar.
- Use the referral widget to share your unique link with people you know:
- Find the unique sharing link in the widget, and copy and paste it into a custom email, LinkedIn message, or any other channel you use to communicate with people.
- Via the social media sharing buttons, you can quickly share
Tellwell’s educational link via posts or direct messages.
- When someone clicks on the link, they will be taken to a landing page where they can submit a form to gain access to valuable free resources – we’ll track this as one of your referrals.
Where to share?
Here are just a few ways you can get the word out:
- Direct communication: use the referral widget as a starting point to send your unique link via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, text messages, WhatsApp, or email.
- Post on social media: we have some handy default posts you can use from the referral widget, but you
can also create your own creative post.
- Mention Tellwell in a blog article on your website or in your email newsletter, and embed your unique
link when you mention us. (Make sure to comply with any disclosure rules.)
- Mention Tellwell when you are talking to authors. Simply refer them to a page on your website, e.g., “I’m
part of their Author Advocate program. On my website mynewbook.com/mypublisher you can get information
about my experience working with them and get a free publishing guide plus 10% savings if you decide to
use their services.” If that’s too complicated, just say “tell them you were referred by [insert your
name] and would like 10% off” and we’ll do our best to track this.
- Invite Tellwell to contribute to a group, event, media platform, or community you are a part of who you think would be interested in learning about publishing. We can do guest blog articles, provide newsletter content, do workshops, webinars, public speaking or other presentations. Yes! Since you don’t have access to Tellwell’s customer portal, Octavo, you can join our Tellwell Ambassador Program.
Reach out to us via this form or contact us at partners@tellwellpublishing.com to indicate your interest in joining the program.
There is a simple approval process to ensure that we have genuine partners who we can effectively support. Customers or partners who have the ability to refer to a higher volume of authors can be upgraded to the next level of our partner program.
Your referrals are tracked automatically in your referral dashboard in the Octavo portal. You can see statistics on how many people have visited your unique landing page, how many have submitted the form to become a referral of yours, the status of each referral, and your earnings balance.
When one of your referrals signs up to work with Tellwell, the status will change to pending until 30 days after they sign up. Then you will have a balance that can be paid out at any time you choose. You may opt for a cash reward, credit towards services, or one of many other exciting options in our reward exchange program. If for some reason you don’t want the referral reward, you can donate it to a charity or to one of our publishing sponsorship programs geared towards giving more people a voice. Cash payouts are administered quarterly near the end of the 2nd month of each quarter, according to the same schedule that we pay out author royalties.
The chart below shows the basic payouts by country and currency should you choose a cash reward or credit towards Tellwell services. But remember there are many other exciting rewards to choose from including gift cards and more.
